Frequently asked questions about hiring a Tipi

Below, we’ve put together some common questions and information that we think might be helpful to you, however, if we haven’t answered your question on this page, please just drop us a line and we will be delighted to help.

How many Tipis do I need?

This depends on how many guests you intend to have and how you plan to use the space. As a rough guide, each Tipi holds up to 70 guests seated and 100 guests for a more informal party. Check out our floor planner for some example configurations.

What areas do you cover and how much do you charge for delivery?

Although we are based just outside of Maidstone, Kent, we cover all the surrounding areas, including Surrey, Sussex and London, as well as the rest of the UK. We deliver free within 10 miles and charge £1.50 per mile thereafter.

Are there any site restrictions I should consider?

You may wish to think about whether the site is accessible for a 4×4 vehicle, has a good power supply, and whether the ground is on a slope or at risk of flooding. If in doubt, please get in touch to arrange a no-obligation site visit.

Do you provide toilets / heaters / generators?

We don’t ourselves, but have trusted suppliers on hand and can help you organise these items. We can also recommend suppliers for catering, bars and decorative props.

How weatherproof are the Tipis?

Our Tipis can withstand even the harshest British weather and are suitable for events all year round. The one thing we do keep an eye on is wind speed, as during severe high winds, it may not be safe to build. Rest assured that this is extremely unlikely and we have never known an event to be cancelled for this reason.

How long does it take to put up a Tipi?

Typically it takes a few hours to put up each Tipi. For an event held on a Saturday, we would generally build your Tipi on the Thursday, giving you a chance to decorate and add any finishing touches before the event. We would then take down the Tipi on the Monday, unless you have requested otherwise.

How safe is the use of an indoor fire pit?

Very safe. We provide full instructions and use smokeless logs, which do not spit or spark. We also have a gas fire pit, which provides localised heat and acts as the perfect outside smoking area for your guests.

What is the booking procedure?

If you let us know your requirements by contacting us, we can provide advice on how many Tipis you may need and the possible configurations. Once you’re happy, all we require is a completed booking form and a 25% deposit. If you need to make changes after you have booked, we will be more than happy to accommodate this where possible.
